Forkner sidelined for Seattle SX

The 250SX West Region returns from a seven week break this weekend in Seattle, but will be missing a familiar face in Austin Forkner.

The Monster Energy / Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider crashed during a practice session and will sit out Saturday night's race due to soreness in his right hip. According to the team, the rookie's return is "being evaluated on a race by race basis."

Forkner was coming on strong prior to the 250SX West break, earning a heat race win at Anaheim 2 and podium finishes at Phoenix and Arlington.

The press release from Monster Energy / Pro Circuit Kawasaki reads in full:

"Due to soreness in his right hip as a result of a crash while practicing, Austin Forkner will miss the Seattle, Washington round of the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. Forkner’s return to competition is currently being evaluated on a race by race basis."
