WHAT IS SMX NEXT – SUPERCROSS?
SMX Next – Supercross is an AMA National Championship and will continue in 2025. The championship will consist of 4 invitational qualifying rounds of the best riders in the world that race with A or B classifications. The SMX Next – Supercross National Championship will help develop elite level athletes while preparing them to make the next step into racing the world’s fastest professional riders.
2026 SCHEDULE
Five Supercross rounds will feature top-level amateurs through the SMX Next program. Athletes competing in the SMX Next Class will be awarded points towards their pro Supercross license based on their finishing positions at each round.
SMX Next will be contested at the following rounds:
- Round 3 – Anaheim, Calif. on Saturday, January 24 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim
- Round 4 – Houston, Texas on Saturday, January 31 at NRG Stadium
- Round 8 – Daytona Beach, Fla. on Saturday, February 28 at Daytona International Speedway
- Round 10 – Birmingham, Ala. on Saturday, March 21 at Protective Stadium
- Round 15 – Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday, April 25 at Lincoln Financial Field
The 2026 program will culminate with the SMX Next AMA National Championship at Round 15 in Philadelphia, Pa. for athletes who qualify.
