450 Storylines:

KEN ROCZEN: Becomes only the 11th athlete in 450SX Class history to score 25 450SX Class wins. He also earned his 170th SMX League podium (6th all-time) and 53rd SMX League victory (12th all-time). Another major milestone for him was tying Jeremy McGrath for 10th on the all-time 450SX Class starts list with his 173rd. With Hunter Lawrence having a disastrous Main Event, Roczen is only 14-points off the Lawrence after his 2nd win of the season. Suzuki has multiple 450SX Class wins in the same season for the first time since 2016, which was also Roczen that season winning 5 rounds for the brand.

CHASE SEXTON: After missing the last 3 rounds, Sexton returned to Detroit in podium form with his 47th career 450SX Class podium (17th all-time). It was only his 2nd podium in 8 starts his season. He now has 107 SMX League podiums, only 7 behind Jeff Stanton for 15th all-time. 9 of Sexton’s 17 career 450SX Class wins have came between rounds 12-17, including 4 during that time-span last season.

MALCOLM STEWART: Captures best finish of the season and earns1st 2026 podium and 8th of his 450SX Class career (55th all-time). The podium was also the 20th in his SMX League career, tying him with Jim Pomeroy, Justin Hill, Gary Semics, & Ben Townley for 111th on the all-time list. Mookie’s climb up the all-time 450SX Class starts ladder continues, as he ties Dean Wilson for 21st and has his eyes on the duo tied for 19th with 134 starts- Ryan Dungey & Damon Huffman. Vince Friese (16th) is also now tied for 19th with 134 but looks to add to that total in St. Louis.

NOTES: Justin Cooper (4th): 17th 450SX Class top-5 finish (55th all-time) & 3rd straight 4th place finish. Eli Tomac (5th): Takes red plate back from H. Lawrence even with his 2nd worst finish of the season. Has won 3 straight rd. 12’s he has competed in (’22-’24). Cooper Webb (6th): Made his 150th 450SX Class start (16th all-time) & earned his 139th 450SX Class top-10 finish (9th all-time). Dylan Ferrandis (7th): Earns his best finish of his season after missing 2 rounds with an injury. He seeks his 50th 450SX Class top-10 finish in St. Louis. Shane McElrath (14th): Made milestone 450SX Class start #75. He is also the active leader in consecutive starts with 61 straight, not missing a single 450SX Class Main Event since the 2023 Opener.
450 Venue Notes:
- HISTORY LESSON: The first 450SX Class round held in St. Louis was on April 27, 1996. Jeremy McGrath (Honda) was on a 13-round win streak heading into St. Louis and was looking to score the first perfect 450SX Class season since Jimmy Ellis in 1975. Jeff Emig (Kawasaki) scored an upset victory to halt McGrath’s bid for perfection. McGrath finished runner-up and capped the season off with a win in Denver, one St. Louis loss away from perfection.
- ST. LOUIS SMX HISTORY: Supercross returned to St. Louis every year through 2018, then alternating years since (2020, 2022, & 2024). The 2025 SMX Playoff round was the 27th 450 SMX League round held in St. Louis (26 SX, 1 Playoff). Additionally, St. Peters, MO, a northwestern suburb of St. Louis, held multiple Pro Motocross rounds in the 70s: 500 Class in 1972, 1976, & 1977 & 1978 and a single 450 Class round in 1978. The 2026 St. Louis Supercross will be the 27th 450SX Class round in The Dome at America’s center and 28th including the SMX Playoff round in 2025.
- PLAYOFFS AT ST. LOUIS: The Dome at America’s Center became the 1st domed stadium to host an SMX Playoff round when it handled the double-pointed 2nd rd. of the 2025 schedule. Hunter Lawrence scored a huge victory over his brother Jett, going 1-3 against Jett’s 4-1. It was Hunter’s 1st 450 win indoors and 2nd 450 win overall. Eli Tomac (Yamaha, 3-2) & Ken Roczen (Suzuki, 2-5) finished 3rd and 4th overall.
- CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: The winner of St. Louis has won the title in only 11/26 (42%) 450SX Class seasons and 11/27 (41%) when including the Playoff Round. Including the Playoff round, St. Louis winners are 0 for their last 6 attempts at winning the Championship: 2025- H. Lawrence, 2024- Tomac, 2022- Marvin Musquin, 2020- Roczen, & 2017/2018- Tomac. Ryan Dungey (2016) is the last athlete to win St. Louis and the title.
250 Storylines:

COLE DAVIES: Secures his 3rd straight and5th career 250SX Class victory. It was his 8th podium through his first 14 250SX Class starts. Davies holds a 9-point lead halfway through the Eastern Divisional Championship. The win was Yamaha’s 150th 250SX Class victory, good for 3rd all-time only behind Kawasaki’s 196 and Honda’s 155. Davies is on track to win only the 2nd Eastern Divisional Championship for Star Yamaha, and first since Colt Nichols in 2020.

SETH HAMMAKER: Rides to his 14th career 250SX Class podium in his 34th start. Was making his 70th career SMX League start and earned his 17th SMX League podium (125th all-time). Hammaker is only 9-points off the red plate going into St. Louis, where he finished 2nd overall at in the 2025 St. Louis Playoff round.

JO SHIMODA: Also nailed 14th career 250SX Class podium in his 56th start. It was his 47th career SMX League podium, good for 54th all-time. The reigning 250 Class World Champion is only 14-points off the red plate going into Rd. 6 of the Eastern Divisional Championship in St. Louis, a place he won in the 2025 Playoffs.

NOTES: Coty Schock (4th): First top-5 finish of the season and 5th of his 250SX Class career. He sits 5th in the point standings. Henry Miller (5th): First career top-5 finish in both 250SX Class racing and SMX League racing. He was making his 45th 250SX Class start and his 130th SMX League start. Nicholas Romano (7th): Nails his 2nd best finish of his 250SX Class and SMX League career. Kyle Peters (8th): 77th 250SX Class start moves him alone into 6th on the all-time 250SX Class starts list. He is 6 starts away from Mitchell Oldenburg for 5th.
250 Venue Notes:
- HISTORY LESSON: The first 250SX Class round held in St. Louis was on April 27, 1996, and just like 2026 St. Louis round was an East/West Showdown. Kevin Windham (Yamaha) won the round along with winning an impressive 3/4 total Showdowns on the season. It was Windham’s 5th win of the season. Windham secured a 6th win to clinch the title in the Denver finale for his first Western Divisional title.
- ST. LOUIS SMX HISTORY: St. Louis has the same venue history as the 450SX Class. 2026 will be the 27th 250SX Class round held in St. Louis and the 28th when including the 2025 Playoff Round. The 1996 and 2026 rounds are the only two East/West Showdowns in venue history. 1997-2018 & 2022 were all Eastern Divisional rounds, while 2020/2024 were Western Divisionals. The 1996 St. Louis East/West Showdown was the last points paying Showdown until it was brought back in 2016. The 2026 St. Louis East/West Showdown is the 50th points paying East/West Showdown in 250SX Class history.
- PLAYOFFS AT ST. LOUIS: Shimoda stole the points lead and the race victory away from Haiden Deegan with 2-2 results. Seth Hammaker and Nate Thrasher, who along with Shimoda are active Eastern Divisional athletes, finished 2nd and 3rd overall on the day. The two moto winners, Deegan & Tom Vialle, finished 5th-6th respectively. Notably, Cole Davies struggled to a 7-11 for 11th overall in the St. Louis playoff round. The Playoffs will not return to St. Louis in 2026, but the finale will be in Ridgedale, Missouri at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena.
- CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: The winner of St. Louis has won their respective 250 title in 16/27 (59%) seasons, and none of the past 6 250SX Class visits: 2024- Levi Kitchen, 2022- RJ Hampshire, 2020- Austin Forkner, 2018- Zach Osborne, 2017- Jordon Smith, & 2016- Jeremy Martin. Musquin in 2015 was the last athlete to win St. Louis and the 250SX Class title. Shimoda did win the 250 SMX World Championship after his 2nd Rd. Playoff victory in St. Louis in 2025, however.
