Triumph Factory Racing released the following statement on Wednesday, announcing them signing SMX racer Aaron Plessinger. This comes just one day after the announcement that Plessinger would be leaving Red Bull KTM.
5.11 Triumph Factory Racing is pleased to officially welcome Aaron Plessinger to its SuperMotocross World Championship program. The experienced American has signed a two-year agreement to race the TF 450-X in the AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross championships.
One of the most recognizable personalities in American motocross, Plessinger brings a wealth of experience and proven race-winning pedigree to 5.11 Triumph Factory Racing. The incredibly popular racer will play an important role in the continued development of the team and the TF 450-X as Triumph targets further success at the highest level of racing in the United States.
Plessinger’s arrival marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both rider and team. Having closely followed Triumph’s rapid progress since entering top-level motocross competition, the American shares the team’s ambition to fight for race victories and championships as the program continues to develop.
Before preparations for the 2027 season begin in earnest, Plessinger will make his first official appearance for the British manufacturer at Triumph’s Global Dealer Conference in Thailand from October 6-9, 2026. There, he will be welcomed into the Triumph family in front of approximately 1,200 dealers from around the world.
Following the event, Plessinger will return to the team’s facility near Atlanta, Georgia, to begin working with the TF 450-X and establish his base settings. His first competitive outing aboard the Triumph will then come at the Paris Supercross in November, before an extensive testing and development program gets underway ahead of the 2027 SuperMotocross World Championship.
As a highly experienced racer in both AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross, Plessinger will bring valuable knowledge to the team as it looks to take another step forward in its 450 program. Alongside his racing credentials, his enthusiasm and likeable personality make him a natural fit for the Triumph brand and team.
