450 Storylines:

CHASE SEXTON: Nailed his 17th career 450SX Class victory, tying him with Jeff Stanton and Mark Barnett for 15th on the 450SX Class wins list. It was his 38th career SMX League victory (18th all-time). The win breaks Kawasaki’s 53 round losing streak, the second longest losing streak in the brand’s 450SX Class history (65 from 1979-1984). Kawasaki’s last win was Jason Anderson at the 2022 finale.

HUNTER LAWRENCE: Placed his Honda on the podium for back-to-back Main Events for the first time in his 450SX Class career. It was his 4th career 450SX Class podium and 69th SMX League podium (31st all-time). Hunter is still in striking distance of the red-plate, only 8 points back.

ELI TOMAC: Retains red-plate with 105th 450SX Class podium (3rd all-time) and 234th SMX League podium (1st all-time). Tomac is having the best 3-round start of his 450SX Class career with 70 points and a 1.7 average finish.

NOTES: Jason Anderson (4th): Ties Ricky Carmichael for 9th with his 97th 450SX Class top-5 finish. Tied for 5th in the points. Joey Savatgy (6th): Best 3-round start of his 450SX Class career with 42 points and an 8th place average finish. Jorge Prado (7th): 20 SMX League starts into his American career and he has 1 podium and 3 top-5 finishes. He does have 10 top-10’s including this 7th at A2. Ken Roczen (8th): Ties Heath Voss for 12th on the all-time 450SX Class starts list with 165. Justin Cooper (10th): Made his 170th SMX League start and nailed his 156th top-10 finish (36/41 in 450SX Class).
450 Venue Notes:
- HISTORY LESSON: On March 15-16, 1974, in the 1st official Supercross Championship season, the Houston Astrodome hosted Round 2/2 of the “Yamaha Super-Series of Motocross”. There were 2 motos held each night, all counting towards the overall results. Jim Pomeroy (Bultaco) won the weekend’s overall with a 3-1-1-2 finish, but Pierre Karsmakers (Yamaha) clinched the Championship with a 2-2-2-5 overall.
- HISTORIC SUPERCROSS VENUE: The Astrodome hosted 36 rounds from 1974-2002, including multiple rounds from 1977-1983. The Astrodome is 4th all-time in 450SX Class rounds held, only behind Angel Stadium, Daytona Beach, and the Pontiac Silverdome. The final Astrodome round was on March 23, 2002, and Ricky Carmichael won his 5th straight race to extend his points lead over David Vuillemin.
- NRG TAKES OVER: NRG Stadium took over hosting duties in 2003 and Chad Reed (Yamaha) won the stadium’s debut. NRG hosted every season from 2003-2015 before the 42-year streak of the Houston SX came to an end. The series returned to NRG Stadium in 2018, 2019, and in 2021 became the first venue in Supercross history to host the first three rounds of a season. The series returned in 2023 with an Eli Tomac (Yamaha) win and 2026 accounts for the 20th round held at NRG Stadium and 56th in Houston.
- CHAMPIONSHIP %: 21/36 (58%) of winners in the Astrodome doubled as 450SX Class Champions, while only 47% (9/19) of winners can say the same from NRG Stadium. In all 55 combined Houston Supercross rounds, winners are 30/55 (55%) in winning the title.
250 Storylines:

HAIDEN DEEGAN: Scored his 9th career 250SX Class victory, tying him with Shane McElrath for 23rd on the 250SX Class wins list. His 27th SMX League win moves him to 26th alone on the SMX League wins list. Deegan’s 19th 250SX Class podium moves him into the top-25 in that category while his 51st SMX League podium moves him into the top-50 on the SMX League podiums list.

MICHAEL MOSIMAN: Back-to-back podiums for the 1st time since A3 and Seattle in 2022. It was his 12th career 250SX Class podium. Mosiman’s 61st 250SX Class start pulls him into a tie with Brock Sellards for 20th on the all-time 250SX Class starts list.

RYDER DIFRANCESCO: Nails a podium in each of the two Anaheim’s, the 1st two podiums of his career. It was only his 15th 250SX Class start as he seeks his first victory.

NOTES: Cameron McAdoo (4th): 27th top-5 and 40th top-10 in his 55 250SX Class starts. Hunter Yoder (7th): Best career 250SX Class (30 starts) & SMX League (39 starts) finish. Matti Jorgensen (12th): Best career 250SX Class (8 starts) & SMX League (29 starts) finish. Crockett Myers (13th): Best career 250SX Class (5 starts) & SMX League (22 starts) finish.
250 Venue Notes:
- HISTORY LESSON: The first 250SX Class round in Houston was at the Astrodome on April 20, 1985. The night featured an East/West Showdown that was won by Eddie Warren (Kawasaki) from the Eastern Divisional.
- HISTORIC SUPERCROSS VENUE: The Astrodome hosted an East/West Showdown every season from 1985-1996. It was the Eastern Divisional Opener many of those seasons, including 1988 where it was the Opener for 450SX and both 250SX Classes, the only time that has happened in Supercross history. From 1997-2002 the Astrodome pivoted to Western Divisional racing, holding their final 250SX Class round won by Matt Walker (Kawasaki) in 2002.
- NRG TAKES OVER: 2003 marked the first NRG Stadium visit and the first Eastern Divisional held in Houston. In total, NRG Stadium has held 12 Eastern and 7 Western Divisionals. 2026 Houston is a Western Divisional round, the 8th in NRG Stadium history. Combined with the Astrodome, Houston has 12 Eastern Divisional rounds, 13 Western Divisional rounds, & 12 Showdowns. 2026 will be the 38th 250SX Class round held in Houston and the 20th at NRG Stadium.
- CHAMPIONSHIP %: The 250SX Class Houston winner won a Divisional Championship in 22/37 (59%) rounds. That number increases to 12/19 (63%) for NRG Stadium, including the last 6 seasons that held at least one Houston round: Jason Anderson 2014, Cooper Webb 2015, Aaron Plessinger 2018, Dylan Ferrandis 2019, Colt Nichols 2021, & Hunter Lawrence 2023.
